What can I expect at my first appointment? Can I get my teeth cleaned?

Before your first visit, print off the new patient forms, complete them at home, and please bring them with you to save time. We are aware of everyone’s busy lives and make it a point to run on time, but keep in mind that many patients like to arrive early just to read our magazine collection, watch the flat screen, or relax next to the soothing waterfall. Please come five minutes before your first visit and feel free to call the office with any questions. We are happy to help.

When you first arrive, you will meet Audrey who will assist you with your paperwork and any further questions. You will then be escorted to a comfortable treatment room where you will meet Dr. Adler and his assistant, either Ann Marie or Stacie. After reviewing your dental and medical histories, Dr. Adler will take the time to speak with you about specific concerns and goals. He will then perform a thorough examination of your teeth and gums, and an oral cancer screening while his assistant charts all of the information on the computer. They will take a series of digital photographs of your teeth and smile and if necessary, will recommend some digital radiographs to complete the digital record. We are happy to contact your previous dentist about sending us your past records. If you do not show any signs of gum disease and have been keeping up with routine visits, we will be happy to clean your teeth that day.

After the examination, Dr. Adler will review his findings with you and discuss treatment options. A treatment plan will be established based upon your needs and priorities. If desired, a written copy of the treatment plan can be provided. Audrey will then schedule your next appointment and review your insurance coverage and convenient payment options. As a courtesy, all appointments will be confirmed by a telephone call the day before they are scheduled. We request at least 24 hours’ notice if it is necessary to reschedule an appointment.

Is your office up to date and offers the latest technologies?

Absolutely. Dr. Adler and his team take more than the required hours of continuing education each year to stay current. The office is clean and modern, and for your safety, exceeds the standard sterilization guidelines as set forth by OSHA and the CDC. The office utilizes digital X-rays, which cuts down on radiation exposure by as much as 90%.

Do you do cosmetic dentistry and teeth whitening?

Yes. Please see our Services page for information on all of our cosmetic procedures, including teeth whitening, veneers, Invisalign clear braces, and more. Dr Adler is a member of the New England Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and is passionate and artistic when it comes to restoring and creating beautiful smiles!

Do you treat children?

We love kids and after 20 years have seen many children grow up in the practice. We are now seeing their kids. Children usually have their first dental appointment at age three. We provide preventative dentistry for your children with fluoride supplements and dental sealants. We will also closely monitor your child’s dental growth and development and will refer you to an orthodontist as needed. Most kids today can grow up cavity free and look forward to their visits to the dentist and especially a trip to the treasure chest at the end. What if I have an emergency?

If you experience a dental emergency, call the office immediately and all emergencies will be seen that day. If you are having an after-hours emergency, call the office and you will be directed to the on call number to reach Dr. Adler.

What insurance do you accept?

We currently accept Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Dental Blue, Delta Dental, Altus Dental, United Concordia, and Cigna. We also accept all dental insurance plans that allow you to see the dentist of your choice. If we are not listed in your insurance network, in many cases, it is still possible for us to work with your insurance as an out-of-network provider. Any questions that you may have about the details of you particular plan, like your annual maximum benefits, deductibles and coverage amounts, are handled by Audrey. We are also happy to file your insurance claims for you electronically.

What payment options do you offer, and what are your financing options?

We accept cash, check, credit cards, and offer several attractive interest free payment plans through Care Credit and Consumer Payment Solutions. We make every effort to help you afford the kind of dental care you deserve.
